Lagu ini cukup menyedihkan apabila kita dalami artinya. Dalam sebuah wawancara, Kelly Clarkson mengatakan bahwa lagu ini mengisahkan hubungannya dengan ibunya. Kelly dibesarkan dalam keluarga yang tidak utuh (Broken Home). Orang tuanya bercerai ketika ia masih sangat muda. Dan selanjutnya ia menjalani hidup yang buruk dengan ibunya. Ibunya tampak menggantungkan hidupnya secara emosional kepada Kelly, dan Kelly tidak mau hal itu. Ia masih terlalu muda untuk menanggung beban itu. Tetapi karena pengalaman ibunya itu, Kelly menjadi seseorang yang sulit untuk didekati. Sulit untuk membuka hatinya. Karena ia tidak ingin tersakiti. Seperti yang di alami oleh ibunya. Namun, dia pun ternyata merasakan hal menyebalkan yang sama.
